GREENSBORO, N.C. — Greensboro Aquatic Center made a major announcement on Thursday that will bring big dollars into the city over the next three years.
GAC will host a total of five national swimming championships between 2020 and 2023. City leaders say the championships will pump $20.2 million into the Gate City.
GAC will host the YMCA of the USA National Short Course Swimming Championships for 2021, 2022, and 2023. The venue will also host the YMCA of the USA National Long Course Swimming Championships in 2020 and 2021.
Officials said Greensboro put bids in for all five championships and won all five.
