On Wednesday's American Idol, Mariah seemingly took a jab at Nicki while critiquing a contestant's performance, saying, "Again, back to the Billboard Hot 100, No. 1 song, which you just performed -- which is difficult to get; not everybody has that."

Perez stoked the fire Thursday morning, posting on his gossip website that Mariah burned Nicki onIdol. Nicki tweeted to Perez: "Bwaha! Burn? She's sad I tied her record for Hot 100 entries in only 3 years of being in the game. Yep, a black female rapper."

But Minaj didn't end things there. She also tweeted: "What u SHOULD be doing (wit your messy [expletive]) is asking why a woman SO successful at her age, is still so INSECURE, and bitter @perezhilton."

And then she alluded to rumors that Idol wants to replace Mariah with Jennifer Lopez, writing, "All dem #1s but JLo phone ringin? Lol. I guess having a personality, being a secure woman, and giving genuine critique still trumps that."
